Pics of the Nutcracker Guest Artists are finally here
We had a great time interviewing Natham Cottam and Traci Finch on the show last week. Cheryl Jenkins brought them over to the radio station and we had a great chat with Nathan about growing up in Buffalo, NY. He recently completed his Masters at the University of Arizona. Go Wildcats
! Traci hails from the great state of Utah and is currently living in New York pursuing her career in dance. Their performance as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Cavalier in Cheryl's School of Dance's production of the Nutcracker brought a new level of culture and refinement to our city of Carlsbad. Thanks also to Bethany Bluth for persuading them to come and perform in Carlsbad.
Here are the pictures of the Santa Claus cookies. They are very easy to make and are always a hit at the cookie exchange.
- Grandma Sue's Caramel Corn
- 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup of butter (not margarine)
- 1 cup light karo syrup
- 2 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 can of peanuts
- 3 bags of microwave popcorn
- Add milk, butter, karo syrup and sugar in a heavy pan and cook on stove to soft ball stage (230 degrees--use a candy thermometer) Put popped popcorn in a large bowl. Pour hot caramel mixture over popped popcorn. Add peanuts on top of hot caramel mixture and blend well. Enjoy

We had a great time on our first show and we hope you did too! Congratulations to Eugene for winning the home tour tickets and to Brian for successfully answering our trivia question and taking home a pizza from Papa Murphys (We bet his wife was excited!) No cooking tonight! The trivia question was: "What was the name of the newspaper and in what year did little Virginia write to the editor of that paper asking "Is there really a Santa Claus?" The answer was: The New York Sun and the year was 1897!
Listen every day for a different trivia question and a chance to win great prizes!
Our Recipe:
Holiday Fruit Dip
One 8 oz tub of strawberry cream cheese
One jar of marshmallow creme
Mix together (this is a tough one folks)
and serve with whatever fruit you have cut up - including apples, strawberries, pineapple, bananas, etc, etc, etc - here's where you can use your imagination!!!
Thanks to our loyal listeners!!! Remember, you are invited to our show every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 - 11. We LOVE getting your phone calls - so keep the lines ringing! Our phone number is 887-5522(or if by some weird fluke you are picking up our station all the way in Buffalo New York - then please add the area code 575-887-5522 :)
